Equity is a principle of fairness and justice. The goal of equity is to give the opportunity for equal outcomes among people. To achieve equity, we must get rid of barriers to success unfairly related to race, gender, and ability. Equity is when all children have what they need and are provided the same opportunities to reach the same levels of success.[1]
