School climate is the conditions of the physical and learning environments in a program/school and has an impact on how children grow and learn. School climate is broad and can have many parts. A positive program/school climate can be created when a program/school does the following:
- Positively supports children’s achievement, learning, engagement, and development
- Uses supportive discipline
- Has a safe physical environment
- Values and builds relationships based on respect, trust, and caring in the school and in the community.[1]
